Many of us first saw Jon Bernthal on our screens as Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead in 2010, since then he’s been busy with projects like The Punisher, Daredevil, and The Bear. He’s one of the biggest stars to come out of TWD with even more exciting projects on the way. Let’s break down what’s to come:

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)
After headlining his own series, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is making his way to the big screens, set to be released on July 31, 2026. He’s joining Tom Holland in this latest Spider-Man movie from Sony and Marvel.
The story is picking up where it left off in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ and Ned, along with Sadie Sink joining the cast (via Hollywood Reporter).
It will be interesting to see how The Punisher’s typically violent role will fit into the PG-13 rating of the Spider-Man movies.

The Odyssey (Nolan, 2026)
A complete star studded cast, Jon Bernthal’s name fits perfectly into the mix of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Matt Damon, Robert Pattison, Elliot Page, Anne Hathaway, Mia Goth, Charlize Theron, and so many more big name actors for Nolan’s The Odyssey film.
This will be a movie everyone will want to see, whether it’s because your favorite actor is in it, you love the story, or a fan of Christopher Nolan; it’s going to be a hit. In a story about survival and the cost of coming home, Bernthal’s quality of feeling his characters to be bone might be exactly what gives Nolan’s epic it’s heart.
