New York Comic Con is coming up, and with it comes one of the biggest weekends of the year for fans of TV, film, comics, gaming, and pop culture. Every year, NYCC brings surprise announcements, first looks, exclusive footage, and appearances from some of the biggest names in entertainment.
While we don’t know exactly what will be announced yet, there are a few projects we have our eyes on. Here are five announcements we’re hoping to see at New York Comic Con 2026.

What’s next for The Walking dead universe?
The Walking Dead has been making headlines recently for selling the rights to stream the show. Netflix is currently streaming it, and of course AMC’s own network AMC+ has streaming rights to the show. AMC Global Media CEO Kristin Dolan confirmed that they are in talks with “very large and enthusiastic partners” regarding the future streaming home of the main series.
With Daryl Dixon ending on Season 4, fans are wondering if there’s anything else left in the future of The Walking Dead. Reflecting on NYCC 2025, “Executive producer Greg Nicotero didn’t have much worry about franchise fatigue – “At its height, The Walking Dead was making 42 hours of television a year. We’re now making decidedly less,” he explained. The group continued that another way they’re combatting the so called fatigue is by putting classic characters in new situations with completely different stories.” Hopefully this philosophy still holds true.

Daryl Dixon Season 4
Daryl Dixon has become one of the strongest series in The Walking Dead Universe, and with season 4 confirmed as the final season, fans are eager to learn what comes next for Daryl and Carol.
Last year’s NYCC panel gave us plenty to talk about, and we’re hoping this year’s convention delivers new footage, behind-the-scenes insights, or hints about how the story will conclude.

Invincible News
Invincible continues to grow into one of the most talked-about animated series on television. Following the success of recent seasons, fans are eager for updates. Good news is, Invincible has already been renewed for a fifth season.
Some fans are hoping for cast reveals, others are just excited to see the show continue. It’s helped redefine what superhero animation can be and remains extremely popular, the graphic novel compendiums continue to be incredibly popular with readers.
Marvel Television’s Next Chapter
Marvel Television has several projects in development, and NYCC could provide the perfect opportunity to showcase what’s coming next.
Fans are always looking for clues about future Disney+ series, returning characters, and how upcoming stories connect to the larger Marvel universe. Marvel rarely arrives at a convention empty handed.

New Comic/video game Adaptations
Some of the biggest announcements in recent years have started with comic books.
We’re hoping to see news about upcoming comic adaptations across film, television, animation, and gaming. My personal wild card pick would be news about the Prime television adaptation of Life is Strange.
Half the fun of New York Comic Con is not knowing exactly what’s coming next. Some of the biggest announcements are the ones nobody sees coming. Let us know what announcements you’re hoping to see this year!
